It is incredibly short-sighted to not give gold or treasure for catching sinking ships. Occasionally a ship will have treasure onboard but due to the game mechanics they can run either into or with the wind depending on their ship and lead you around for time eternal offloading their goods one at a time driving past outposts. I don't know what RARE's "vision" entails but pirates were not errand boys sent to capture chickens nor were they "Ghost Busters" bounty hunters sent to kill the undead. The maid should teleport you only to an island not to your ship. You jump off your ship and there is noone left? Ok, then it should sink after a period of time, and you should get eaten by sharks.
